Nancy G. Sierra March 15, 1949 - December 9, 2010 COLUMBUS, GA — Nancy G. Sierra, 61, of Columbus, GA died Thursday, December 9, 2010 at St. Francis Hospital. A memorial service will be held 4:00 PM Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at Gentian Baptist Church with Reverend Steve King officiating according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA 31907. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Mrs. Sierra was born March 15, 1949 in Columbus, GA, daughter of the late James Lamar and Mariam Cruthcfield Grant. She graduated from Columbus High School in 1967 and earned her Master's Degree in Human Resources from Troy State University. Mrs. Sierra worked for the Muscogee County School District as a benefits specialist and was a member of Gentian Baptist Church where she was active with WMU, the Choir, and Children's Church. We will miss her presence daily, but her memory will live forever in our hearts. Survivors include her loving husband, Orlando Sierra of Columbus, GA; two sons, Grant Lane, and Allen Lane Carver, both of Columbus, GA; one granddaughter, Ashley Marie Lane of Columbus, GA; two sisters, Janice Henry and her husband, Steve of Columbus, GA, and Angela Cooper and her husband, Robert of Midland, GA; one brother, Jim Grant of Texas; numerous nieces nephews and friends.
