Opal Jeanette Lusk, 89, of Butler, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2025. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 2:00 Pm at Striffler Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia with visitation starting one hour prior. Burial services will take place at Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia.
Opal was born on August 28, 1935, in Graceville, Florida to Ruth Smith and Namon Kirkland. She met her husband, Ward, while he was in the military which landed them living in many different places. A simple woman, she never stressed. She loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren. A Business Owner, she was a very smarty and wise woman. She loved traveling and playing her games such as bingo, crossword puzzles, and cards.
She is survived by her children, Patti Allen (Jim), Rick Parker (Judi), and Gary Lusk (Regina); 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ward Lusk and her youngest daughter, Candy Jones.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheuimers Association in her memory.
