A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at St. Anne Catholic Church. Father Robert Schlageter will be officiating. Interment will follow in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 4, 2021 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary with the Holy Rosary being said at 6:00 PM.
Mrs.Jasinski was born February 3, 1935 in Connellsville, PA, daughter of the late George Edward and Agnes Yanitor Mihaly. She graduated from Indiana State Teachers College with a degree in music education. She worked for the Muscogee County School District for 10 years at Jordan Vocational High School administration where she was known as “Ms. J”. She cared for all of the students at Jordan and formed many friendships that still last to this day. Mrs. Jasinski was also a faithful member of St. Anne Catholic Church where she enjoyed playing the organ and singing in the choir. She also performed with the Civic Chorale and Cantus Columbus.
In addition to being a member of the choir, Mrs. Jasinski belonged to the Rosary Guild, Volunteered for Outreach, was a member of the St. Anne Prime Timers, Ladies Auxillary and Council of Catholic Women
She was recognized in December 2000 for her service to the church receiving an Apostolic Blessing from his Holiness, Pope John Paul II for her 25 years of service as organist at St Anne. In addition, that same year she was awarded the Gartland award for distinguished service to the church. Most recently at the 2020 Diemel Ball, Mrs. Jasinski was the recipient of the Margot Bradley Service Award for her active role in church ministry and her leadership to inspire others to serve.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, spoiling her grandchildren, and travelling with family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jasinski was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Louis Jasinski, son, James Michael Jasinski, daughter-in-law, Vickey Jasinski, and two brothers, William George and George Edward Mihaly.
Survivors include her two sons, Gregory and Joseph Jasinski, and his wife, Susan; seven grandchildren, Jonathan, Kyle, Kevin, Lukas, Carley, Tyler, Michael, and Melissa Jasinski; two great grandchildren, Isabella and Max Jasinski; numerous other family members and friends.
