Patricia J. Parkman, RN, 84, of Hamilton, Georgia passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2025. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Striffler Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia 31907 with a visitation one hour prior.
Patricia was born on February 2, 1941, to Ethel and Ennis Jones in Greenville County, South Carolina. She married the love of her life, John Michael Parkman on February 23, 1963, whom she was married to for 27 years. Patricia graduated with her degree in Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Southern Baptist College in Columbia, South Carolina. She loved her nursing career and always went above and beyond for her patients. She was employed at Martin Army Hospital as a Registered Nurse and ended up retiring from Civil Service.
A follower in Christ, Patricia was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Hamilton, Georgia. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, wife, sister, and daughter who loved her family dearly and loved gardening, bird watching, and traveling, especially to the beach.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John Michael Parkman; her parents, Ennis and Ethel Jones; and her sisters, Dorothy Senkbeil, Bea Shannon, and Mary Stevens.
Survivors include her children, Beth Brown (Richard) and Bill Parkman (Sandi); her grandchildren, Aaryn Snipes, Ian Brown (Makayla), Owen Brown, John Michael Parkman, Tim Gravel, MSN, (Sarah) and Kayla Esparza, RN, (Curt); her great grandchildren, Everlee Brown, Harper and Harrison Gravel and Everly Esparza; her sister, Christine Smith; many nieces and nephews.
