

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 16, 2012 at Trinity Episcopal Church with Father Frank Hughes officiating according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, GA.
The family will receive friends following the service in the Parish Hall.
Mr. Barber was born in England on October 5, 1934 to the late Edward Barber and Bertha Wood Barber. He has lived in Columbus since 1983 and was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church where he served as a Lector. Mr. Barber was a Metallurgist and worked for Pratt & Whitney and later for Washington Mills. He was an avid Soccer enthusiast and was instrumental in organizing the Soccer Referee program in Columbus.
Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Margaret Barber, son, Timothy John Barber and wife Jenny and daughter, Jane Margaret Brown and fiancé, Adrien Mewhinney, grandchildren, Kile, Kayla, Hunter, Payton and Jared, sister, Patricia Ann Pierpoint and husband Leslie and much loved nieces and nephews. Mr. Barber was preceded in death by a brother, Malcolm Barber.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Columbus Hospice or to Trinity Episcopal Church.
