Funeral services are scheduled at the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA on Tuesday, December 14, 2010, 11 a.m. with Dr. Norman L. Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Road, Columbus. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 from 9:30 till 11:00 a.m.
Mr. Brown, son of the late Horace Brown and Leona Smith Brown, was born December 30, 1922 in Troup County, GA. He was a retired peace officer. Mr. Brown is survived by his wife of over 65 years, Evelyn Brown of Hamilton, GA; three daughters, Sande Beavers of West Point, GA, Cheryl Wortham and her husband Steve of LaGrange, GA, and Jo Beth Martin and her husband Lee of Auburn, AL; two sons, Art Brown and his wife Kim of Big Canoe, GA and Robert Brown, Jr of Newnan, GA; 10 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; other relatives and friends.
