Robert A. "Bobby" Wood

Bobby was born on November 7, 1946 in Columbus, Georgia to the late Lena Jane Saint Wood and William Sanford Wood, Jr. He was a graduate from Jordan Vocational High School, Class of 1964. Bobby worked for many years at Columbus Foundries, Inc. He enjoyed bowling, working in his yard-a showcase in itself, and being outdoors. Bobby loved his canine companion “Prissy” she was always at his side. He was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend, Bobby will be greatly missed by all who knew him and especially loved him.

He is survived by his brother, William S. Wood, III “Bill” and sister-in-law Anne Wood; his niece Lena Lenard (Jacob) Lee and her children: Austin Lenard-Austin’s son Noah Lenard, Gabriella Lee, J.J. Lee, Braeden Lee and Brandon Lee; nephew, Corey Wood and Corey’s son Ryker Wood; niece, Megan E. (Miles) Olive and Megan’s daughter Savannah L. Harris; and a host of other relatives.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Lena Jane and William S. Wood, Jr. and his sister, Patsy A. Lenard.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in Parkhill Cemetery with Reverend Hank Reeves officiating. Family will greet friends at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary from 10:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. going to Parkhill in a procession for the graveside at 11:00 a.m.
