Ronald "Red" Robert Hamilton

Red was born in 1975 to Ronald and Therese Hamilton in Oregon. He graduated from Butler County High School in Kentucky in 1995 and went on to join the United States Army on April 28, 1995 and retired on April 30, 2015. He married Tara C. Evans on October 4, 1998 and was the proud father of two boys.

Red was very passionate about his career in the military and his 20 year service to this country. He had five deployments to Iraq, each deployment changing him maybe mentally and physically but never changing his commitment to serve. Red loved sports, football, basketball, and especially baseball.To know him was to know the Raiders, Clippers, and the LA Angels of Anneheim. He found comfort and peace in his music and especially his furry babies who he often credited with providing him with peace and comfort when he had hard times after deployments and couldn’t fully express himself to others. His friends and family will remember a sense of humor that was shown rarely but with genuine zeal. He also loved the west coast.

He is survived by his wife, Tara; his sons, Evan and Ronnie; his mother in law, Agnes; and special aunts, uncles, cousins, in laws, family and friends. Even though Red was an only child, he truly loved his brothers and sisters that he served and deployed with. He is preceded in death by his father, Ronald; his mother, Therese (Terry); his grandmother, Loretta; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and military family service members.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 4, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Striffler Hamby Mortuary, Edgewood Hall, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia 31907. Family will meet with friends one hour prior. Interment will follow with full Military Honors at Ft. Moore Main Post Cemetery.
