Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary with visitation at 10:00 a.m. and service at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend J. Grantham officiating. Interment will follow in Parkhill Cemetery.
Mrs. Screws was born July 2, 1916 in Laurel Hill, Florida, daughter of the late Gussie Spears Graham and Rev. James Monroe Graham. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack S. Screws; son, Jack Stephens, sisters Nell G. Snipes and Edna G. Phelps, and brothers Jim Graham and Don Graham.
Mrs. Screws was a graduate of Old Industrial High School and was a longtime cosmetologist and business owner in Columbus. She was a member of Wynnton United Methodist Church for 78 years where she was active in the Cofer-Friendship and Goodwill Sunday School classes.
Survivors include daughters Graham S. Dukes of Lake Harding and Sandra J. Wagner of Panama City, FL; brother Dr. R. Dent Graham of Rock Hill SC; grandchildren: Kimberly W. Wiley (Craig) of Fayetteville, GA, Scott B. Wagner of Panama City, FL, Chris Stephens and Clay Stephens of Virginia Beach, Catherine D. Pleasants (David) of LaGrange, Susannah D. Haley (Jeff) of Columbus, Liz D. Wolverton (Bobby) of Columbus, Benjamin T. Dukes of Burbank, CA; eleven great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
