Scott Anthony Freeman 42, of Midland, Georgia passed away at his home on Saturday, November 3, 2018. He is survived by his wife Debbie, mother, Peggy Vaquer, father, James Freeman, and siblings, Jacqueline Freeman, Justin Freeman, and Jeff Freeman (Cassidy Rist), and nephew, Isa James.
Scott was a caring and gentle soul with a huge heart who loved to help others, especially those less fortunate. He spent countless hours volunteering his time at nursing homes and children’s hospitals, in fact, it was through his volunteering that he met his wife Debbie and their late son Brooks. He was an avid and passionate volunteer for the Special Olympics.
He loved and cherished his family dearly and was a devout Christian. He would spend hours on end reading his bible, praying, and spreading the love of Jesus.
He loved to make people laugh, and he was quite good at it. The holidays were never brighter than when Scott was there to bring laughter and joy to those he loved. He was something greater than he ever realized; he was beloved, admired, needed, and inspired all who came in contact with him. The world will be less without him and he will be missed dearly.
It is often said that the ultimate measure of a man is not what they do in times of comfort and convenience, but in times of challenge and struggle. One of the many things that deserves remembering about Scott, is that in his most challenging and painful moments, he would often be found handing out food and gift cards to the homeless. Even at his lowest, he never failed to pick his head up and look for those who needed to be seen.
Funeral Mass will be at St. Anne’s Catholic Church on Thursday, November 8th, 2018 at 11:30 am in Columbus, Georgia.
