Shelia Darlene Thetford, age 67, of Cataula, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2021. A Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, February 26, 2021 6-8 pm in The St Elmo Room of Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Rd Columbus, GA. A Celebration of Life and Committal Service for Shelia will be held Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 11:00 AM in Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia 31907.
Shelia was born July 27, 1953 in Columbus, Georgia to Blanch Carswell Taylor and Bobby Jack Taylor. She was a life-long resident of the Columbus area. Shelia retired from Muscogee County Schools as a Bus Driver. She was very patient and easy going with her riders. She loved her students. Shelia loved her family and adored her husband. She enjoyed cooking for family gatherings and sharing new ideas with friends on Face Book. Shelia will always be remembered for her culinary skills as well as her love of the Lord.
Shelia’s father Bobby Jack Taylor, mother Blanch Carswell Taylor; and brother James Franklin Taylor preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Rickey Earl Thetford; daughter Roni Lynn Taylor (Jamie Herring); and son Rickey Earl Thetford II; sister Sharon Kay Catlin; brother Ricky Glen Taylor grandson Hunter Camron Taylor and granddaughter Greneleigh Marie Thetford. Shelia also had nieces, nephews, other family members and many friend to cherish her memory.
