Shirley Ann Nowling

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 25, 2022 in the Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, GA. Interment to follow at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, AL. A visitation for family and friends will be Wednesday, August 24, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Shirley was born in Augusta. GA on March 8,1939, to Burford and Agnes Newman. She was raised in Columbus. She attended Jordan High school before marrying the love of her life and sharing 54 years with him building and raising their large, loving family. Shirley was a homemaker who took care of kids and grandkids. She was an avid reader and loved the Georgia Bulldogs, Atlanta Braves and music. Many will have wonderful memories of her playing outside with the kids and turning flips.

Shirley was reunited in Heaven with her parents, husband Narvie Nowling Jr., children Cynthia, Patricia and Johnny lee, grandson Christopher and her brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her children Narvie D. Nowling (Heidi) of Fortson, GA and Lisa Hamilton (Jackie) of Cataula, GA. Grandchildren Misty Culpepper, Narvie B. Nowling(Teresa). Daniel Nowling, Amanda Paxton (Kyle), Tashina Winesburg (Cory), Shaleeia Thompson (Jonathan) and great-grandkids: Britney, Rebecca, Patrica Ann, Terry, Braeden, Trista, Kirsten, Neenah, Arabella, Ainsley, Braylee, Ashlyn, Taryn and Finlee as well as 6 great-great grandchildren.
