Shirley Thomas

Shirley Ann Thomas (Granny), 86 of Phenix City, AL passed away Thursday, June 24, 2021 peacefully at her home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, GA with Dr. John Talley officiating. The internment will follow at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 29, 2021, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA. Shirley was born June 15, 1935 in Columbus, GA, the daughter of the late William C. Gordy & Mary Helen Landers. She was the wife of the late Jimmy Thomas together they founded the East Alabama Motor Speedway. Shirley is survived by her children Billy Thomas, Bobby (Carla) Thomas, Ben (Tammy) Thomas, Beverly (Shane) Thompson; her grandchildren Melanie (Richard) Davidson, Megan (Kyle) Watley, Jacqueline (Sean) Clare, William Thomas, Victoria Gentry, Bobby (Courtney) Thomas, Jr, Joey (Barrett) Thomas, Jared Thomas, Jamie Thomas, Jimmy (McKinley) Thomas; 8 great grandchildren; several other family members and friends.
