Officer Suzanne Powell Huffman

Officer 1st Class Suzanne Powell Huffman, age 40, resident of Columbus, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2015. Funeral Services are scheduled on Friday, October 16, 2015 at Cascade Hills Baptist Church, 727 54th St. Columbus, at 2:00pm, with Pastor Brent Purvis, Reverend Gene Boyd, Pastor Jonathan Wilson, and Chaplain Roy Isasi officiating. Burial will follow the service at Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Road Columbus.

The family will receive friends in the Mill Room of Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Road Columbus, on Thursday, October 15, 2015 from 4:00-7:00pm.

Officer Huffman, daughter of Peggy Huffman (David) and John Powell, was born April 9, 1975 in Fort Gordon, Georgia. She graduated from Hardaway High School and received an Associate’s Degree and Bachelor’s Degree from Columbus State University. Officer Huffman worked for the Columbus Police Department and was a member of the Local Fraternal Order of Police. She was very active in both Cascade Hill Baptist Church, as well as Edgewood Baptist of Columbus. Officer Huffman was a very adventurous person who was full of life and loved the outdoors. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Officer Huffman is survived by her parents; children, Tanner, Dalton, Cullen, Xander, Zane; grandparents, Betty Powell, Charles and Darlene Huffman; brothers, Clint Powell; Johnny Powell and Blake Powell; sister, Candi Powell; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and loving friends.
