Columbus, Georgia- Thelma Jeanette Carroll 76 of Columbus, Georgia passed away early Monday, May 5, 2014 at home surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral services will be Thursday, May 8, 2014 at 3:00 PM in the Edgewood Hall at Striffler-Hamby, Columbus. The family will receive friends in the Wynnton Room of Striffler-Hamby, Columbus Wednesday evening from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.

Thelma Jeanette Carroll was born June 27, 1937 in Colquitt, Georgia to the late Sadie West Tabb and John Tabb. Mrs. Carroll was retired from Fieldcrest Mills of Columbus, Georgia where she faithfully worked for several years. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Morrell Carroll.

Survivors include her daughter, Rhonda Dowdney; son, Jeff Carroll (Karen Griffin); sisters, Elsie Miller and Edrie Ward; grandchildren, Brian (Danyail) Griggs, Christy (Mike) McKillip, Magen Dowdney, and Brittany Dowdney; great-grandchildren, Ashley McKillip, Kenny McKillip, Haleigh McKillip, Mackenzie McKillip, Tyler Danford, and Triston Crowell; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
