William Knight

Born on February 10,1960 in Columbus, Georgia, Bill led a life defined by dedication to his family and an extraordinary career spanning over three decades.

Bill's passion for cars began early and became the cornerstone of his remarkable professional journey. With over 30 years in the automotive industry, he earned legendary status in the financial department of the car business. His expertise and unwavering commitment garnered admiration and respect from colleagues and clients alike. For Bill, cars were not just a profession but a lifelong passion that shaped much of his life's work which thru the years included Bill Heard Chevrolet, Jay Automotive Group, Bratton Automotive, and Gils Auto Sales.

Affectionately known as "Uncle Bill" and "Dollar Bill", he had a unique ability to connect with people. His warmth and charisma left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be remembered for his kind spirit, genuine connections, and enduring legacy.

He has been a member over the past year at North Highland Church in Columbus Ga where he had a chance to go back to his roots in his relationship with God.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Alisa Zoncki Knight; his daughters Whitney Knight Shaffer, Astin Knight Miller (Matthew Miller), Sydnee Skye Knight, and Summer Skye Knight; his sons William Chancellor "Chance" Knight (Laura Mitchell Knight) and Kyle Weston Knight; His grandchildren Damien Augustus "Gus" Shaffer, Broughton Fitz Shaffer, Rhett Randall Shaffer, and Katherine Cooper "Kate" Knight; his Brother Anthony Oid "Tony" Knight (Debbie Knight); nephews David Slocumb and Anthony Oid "Andy" Knight Jr.; Nieces Morgan Knight Sanders, Samantha Noelle Special, and Vivien Ingeborg Special.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mildred Elizabeth "Micki" Knight and William Noah "WN" Knight Sr., whose memories he cherished throughout his life.

A visitation will be held on May 5, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Striffler Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia. A funeral service will follow on May 6, 2026 at 11:00 AM at North Highland Church, 7300 Whittlesey Blvd, Columbus, GA 31909 on May 6, 2026 at 11:00 AM. Bill will be laid to rest at Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Rd, Columbus, GA 31907.
