Graveside services will be held 3:00pm, Monday, May 9, 2011 at Parkhill Cemetery with Dr. Edwin M. Cooper, Jr. officiating, according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary 4071 Macon Road Columbus. Visitation for Mr. Knight will be from 12noon - 2:00pm, Monday, May 9, 2011 at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his father John Steverson Knight. Mr. Knight was a First Mate with Charter Fishing in Panama City Beach, Florida for ten years.
Survivors include three daughters, Leslie Marie Knight of Columbus, GA., Amanda Jessica Knight of Atlanta, GA., and Holly Knight, two sons, William Coley Knight, Jr. of Columbus, GA., and Blair Lawless of N. Augusta, SC., mother, Jane Dillard Knight of Columbus, GA., one sister, Leslie Dillard Knight of Columbus, GA., two brothers, John Steverson (Elizabeth) Knight, Jr., and Robert Dillard (Pam) Knight both of Columbus, GA., and numerous relatives and friends. He leaves behind his devoted companion and best friend, his dog Buddy.
