A Graveside service for Mack will be held Monday, March 10, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Parkhill Cemetery in the Masonic Mausoleum located at 4161 Macon Rd, Columbus, Georgia 31907.
Mack was born July 12, 1943, in Oceanport, New Jersey to the late Mack Toole and Mary Varn Toole. Mack attended Northeast High School in San Antonio, Texas. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served in the Military Police Corps and is a Veteran of the Vietnam War. While serving in the Army, he was stationed at Fort Benning, Georgia, where he met and married the love of his life Janet C. Toole. Mack and Janet will have been married 60 years in November of 2025. Mack was honorably discharged from the Army on October 26, 1968, as a Sergeant.
Mack loved his family; he was a devoted Husband, Dad and Pawpaw. One of Mack’s greatest joys in life was watching his grandchildren growing up and being able to debate over many topics with them, which his children never dared to do. Mack loved and adored his cock-a-poo Isabella (aka Baby-girl), who was his shadow everywhere he went. He was a proud Shriner of the Alcazar Temple in Montgomery, AL, where he served for many years and took great pride and joy in being able to drive the Shriners bus to the Shriners Children’s Hospital for families in need. Mack never met a stranger and was always willing to help in any way that he could. "Always pray to have eyes that see the best in people, A heart that forgives the worst, A mind that forgets the bad, And a soul that never loses faith in God." Mack will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Varn Toole; father and stepmother, Mack and Joan Toole; father and mother-in-law, Charles H. and Lois J. Crapps.
Mack is survived by his beloved wife, Janet C. Toole; daughter, Tammy Lynn Toole-Gilson; son, Charles Michael Toole (Julie); grandsons, Charles Michael Toole II (Emily) and Jonathan Mack Toole; granddaughter, Sweet Maddie Crisp; and coming soon his first “great grandson” Charles "Charlie" Michael Toole III, due in June of 2025. Mack also has two brothers and three sisters.
