Bart Daniel Voelz, 55, of Columbus died 8:13 a.m. Tuesday, January 13, 2015, at his home.
Bart was born May 4, 1959 in Phoenix, AZ the son of Paul Donald and Eleanor Dudley Voelz. He was raised in Columbus where he spent most of his life living and working in the community. He was a 1977 graduate of Columbus East High School where he played football.
He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. He was owner/operator of Service Master from 1979 to 1998. He founded Voelz Cleaning Service in 1998 and operated it to the present. He enjoyed sports especially the Colts and going to East football games, playing with his grandkids, fishing and spending with family and friends. If you knew Bart you loved him, he didn’t make his life about things, but about family and friends. He was an all-around good guy.
He is survived by a son, Jon (Amity Hood) Voelz of Nashville; father, Don Voelz of Fountain Hills, AZ; brother, Kevin (Cynthia) Voelz of Florida; sisters, Teresa Voelz of Columbus and Beverly (Steve) Allen of Kokomo, IN; grandchildren, Harper and Kaprice Voelz of Nashville; and former wife, Rebecca Voelz of Indianapolis.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday January 24, 2015 and calling will be from 10 a.m. until service time at Grace Lutheran Church with the Pastor John Armstrong officiating.
