Earl had a passion for attending church. He faithfully attended Second Baptist Church locally as well as the Second Baptist Church in his hometown of Owenton, Kentucky. He also enjoyed attending Faith, Hope, and Love Church of God in Christ in Elizabethtown, Indiana. He loved gospel and soul music, watching westerns, eating, especially with the company of his daughter, Chastity, and he enjoyed buying lottery tickets.
Earl worked as a bouncer at a pub in Columbus for 25 years. He also spent several years working as a car salesman where he discovered a love for detailing cars.
Earl is survived by his children, Chastity (Tim) Robinson, of Indianapolis; Charles, Steven, Earlene, and LydaMae Harris; grandsons, Tyler Straub and Dashawn Hunter, both of Indianapolis; great-grandchildren, Clayson and Faithlynn Straub, both of Tennessee; sister, Alma F. (Bishop Carl) Behanna of Cincinnatti; and brothers, Leroy Harris of Florida, and Deacon Eugene (Linda) Harris of Owenton, Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, John Henry Harris Jr. and Charles Edward Harris.
A funeral service to honor Earl’s life will be held Saturday, September 11 at 11 a.m. at Myers-Reed Chapel with Pastor Mike Harris and Pastor Chris Hagan officiating. Burial will follow at Garland Brook Cemetery. Friends may gather at the funeral home for visitation two hours prior to the service, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
