Irene M. Robinson

Born in Dekalb, Miss. on Feb. 17, 1954, Irene was the daughter of Clay and Nersie Clemons Madison.

Irene was active in her churches, Dayspring Church of God and Faith Ministries, serving as volunteer at the food pantry. She enjoyed serving and helping others as a volunteer for various soup kitchens and food drives in the Columbus area. She was currently employed by Cummins Engine Company and had worked for 38years.

Irene’s survivors include her daughter, Tanyel Robinson of Chicago; her four brothers, Henry Madison and Charles (Barbara) Madison, all of Franklin, Jimmy (Shelly) Madison, Milwaukee, Wisc. , Joe Madison, Dekalb, Miss. and her former husband, Rev. Thomas Robinson, Arlington, Texas.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents, Clay Madison on Feb. 10. 2007; and her mother, Nersie Clemons Madison on May 3, 2009; and a sister Addie Madison in 2003.

The funeral service celebrating Irene’s life will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a. m. in Hathaway-Myers on Pearl St. Officiating are Pastor Jarvis Cooper, Pastor David Bosley and Rev. Thomas Robinson. Burial will follow in Garland Brook Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:00 a. m. until service time at the funeral home.
