

She was born in Columbus, Oct. 30, 1935, the daughter of the late Russell and Christina Lowe Peel. She married her husband, Thomas L. "Tom" Moore at St. Peters Lutheran Church on June 18, 1955. He preceded her in death on April 7, 2012.
Janet was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church, served on the board of the American Cancer Society and Cummins Credit Union, and was a member of Sigma Phi Gamma Sorority. She was active in the Republican Party, many community activities and did a lot of volunteer work. She worked as Executive Secretary at Cummins Engine Company for Tim Solso for many years, and was a Six Sigma Recruiter.
She is survived by daughters, Anita (Steve) Smith of Bloomington, and Cynthia (Jeff) Shoaf of Hope; a son, Mike (Kris) Moore of Columbus; a sister, Jean (Lou) Persifield of Columbus; grandchildren, Keith and Kris Griner, Leah and Jamerson Moore and Christina (Chris) Ricketts, all of Columbus, Alonzo (Megan) Shoaf of Mason, Ill., Brittany (Kyle) Shepherd of Lebanon, Darcy (Cameron) Beatty of Provo, Utah, Emma (Cody) Swainston of Logan, Utah, and Frances and Gwen Shoaf of Hope; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Myers-Reed Chapel with Pastor Mark Teike officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9:30 a.m. until service time Wednesday.
