She was of the Presbyterian faith and was a homemaker.

Mrs. Garrett was born in Grayson County, Kentucky, December 31, 1926, the daughter of James Clyde and Cora Osbun Durbin. She married Verne M. Garrett of Hayden, Indiana on March 4, 1944. He preceded her in death June 7, 2007.

She is survived by two sons, Douglas Garrett of Alaska; Nathan (Kathy) Garrett of Columbus, Indiana; one daughter, Brenda Garrett of Alabama; one grandson, Travis (Kristen) Garrett of Columbus, Indiana; one granddaughter, Tessa (Steve) Thorstenson of Mooresville, Indiana; three great-grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one brother and two sisters.
