

Malcolm Leon “Ping” Jennings, 79, passed away at home on November 4th 2011. He is survived by his wife, Jane Jennings; sons Jay (Brant Grubb), Denver, CO and Mark (Barbara) Zionsville, IN; step-granddaughters Laura Hall, Jessica Hoyt and Briana Hall; sister Donna-Mae Young, Westfield, IN and faithful companion, Buddy. Ping was born January 19, 1932 in Lynn, Indiana, son of Guy and Theresa Jennings and preceded in death by his parents, siblings: Bob, Jim, John, Byron and Mary-Louise.
He served as a corporal in the US army ordinance division in Korea from 1951-1953 and later, graduated from the Central Academy of Commercial Art in Cincinnati Ohio in 1956. He married Martha Jane Williams in 1956 and settled in Columbus Indiana. He was employed as Art Director at Arvin Industries and also at Hamilton Cosco between 1957 and 1994. Ping received numerous recognitions for his graphic designs, including the national award for annual reports. An avid painter, Ping also enjoyed renovating old cars and fishing.
Visitation will be at Myers-Reed Chapel on Tuesday, November 8th from 4:30 to 7:30 pm. His life will be celebrated with a memorial service on Wednesday, November 9th at Asbury United Methodist Church at 1:30 pm followed by a reception. Memorial contributions may be donated to the American Heart Assn or to Red Bird Mission at www.rbmission.org.
