Obituary of Margaret E. Edwards

Margaret E. Edwards, 102, of Collinsburg, Penna., formerly of Columbus, Ind, died Wednesday, June 3, 2020 in Westmoreland Manor. She was born June 17, 1917 in Bloomington, Ind., a daughter of the late John Dillon and Vannie (Meadows) Hays. Margaret was a member of West Newton United Presbyterian Church and a former member of 1st Methodist Church, Columbus Ind., member and past Worthy Matron of Order of the Eastern Star, the White Shrine of Jerusalem, the Order of Amaranth, and the Professional Women’s Club, all of Columbus, Ind. Surviving are three children, J. Paul Edwards, Joyce (Jim) Willis, and John Edwards; 13 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; numerous great great grandchildren; and two sisters, Kathryn Crouch and Sue Shaver. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, J. Paul Edwards; brothers, John Lloyd Hays and Robert Dale Hays; sisters, Wilma Sundblad and Yvonne McCammon; and daughters-in-law, Sonia Edwards and Dorothy Edwards. Visitation from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday Myers~Reed Chapel on 25th Street. Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. with Al White officiating. Burial will follow at Garland Brook Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to West Newton United Presbyterian Church, PO Box 314, West Newton, PA 15089. The family extends a special thanks to the nurses and aides at Westmoreland Manor.
