Obituary of Mary Lou Schooler

Mary Lou Schooler, 88, of Columbus died at 5:02 p.m. Friday, October 26, 2018, at Columbus Regional Hospital. Mary Lou was born in Scottsburg, Indiana June 13, 1930, the daughter of Harry and Florence Bridgewater McClellan. She married Larry Schooler in Columbus February 21, 1951; he preceded her in death March 15, 2005. She was a secretary at Columbus East High School for many years. She loved dogs, playing bridge, but most importantly spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by children, Terry (Jean) Schooler of Columbus, Gerry (Cathy) Schooler of Columbus and Beth Anne Zink of Columbus; grandchildren, Drew (Lauren) Schooler, Blair (Hector) Moreno, Lukas (finance Jonathan Pike) Schooler, Courtney (Kyle) Gatesy, Sydney (Mike) Reed, Gabriel (Emily) Zink; great grandchildren, Grace Gatesy, Baron Reed and Rosalyne Moreno and two additional great granddaughters on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a great granddaughter, Marlee Schooler. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Myers~Reed Chapel on 25th Street with Pastor Mark R. Teike officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday from 10:00 a.m. to service time. Entombment will be in Garland Brook Mausoleum.
