Noralou North

She was born on July 20, 1937, in Columbus, Indiana, to Lew G. Sharpnack and Ila Louise “Holly” Sharpnack.

Noralou lived a vibrant and multifaceted life, marked by curiosity, professionalism, and a love for people and experiences. Her career journey reflected her adventurous spirit and strong work ethic. She began as a flight attendant with Eastern Airlines, then worked as an administrative assistant for Container Corporation. While in New York, she was employed by the Eve Segal public relations firm, where she collaborated with various Hollywood studios. She also played a role in promoting Expo ’67 for the Canadian Government. Later, she served as a law secretary for Cargill Inc.

She attended Hanover College in Madison, IN and Indiana University in Bloomington, IN. Noralou pledged Phi Mu at Hanover and continued her membership at IU. She maintained a lifelong enthusiasm for Indiana University basketball and football. In her lifetime she was able to see IU win a basketball and football national championship. Noralou also enjoyed the excitement of the Indy 500, NASCAR, and the Kentucky Derby. She particularly enjoyed adventures with her husband Bob. Her faith was an important part of her life.

Noralou will be deeply missed by her loving husband, Robert North; her children, Peggy Wessels, Andrew North, Lew Michael North, and James Trent North; her 10 grandchildren; and her 5 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, John North, and her brother, John Sharpnack.

Funeral Services were held at Highland Christian Church in Arkansas on Tuesday, March 31, 2026.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at Garland Brook Cemetery. All are invited to attend.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Noralou’s memory to the Bella Vista Animal Shelter or the Highland Christian Church Choir.
