Robert Alvin Cowan

Robert Cowan, 66, passed away April 29, 2018 at his home. Robert was born in Brown County on November 26, 1951 to Junus and Kallie (Burton) Cowan. He married Evelyn Hatchett in 1975 and together they raised four children. He loved to go fishing and hunting and loved spending time with his dog. He made Living buying, selling, and trading and always managed to get the best deal. He enjoyed being outdoors, planting flower beds, and mowing the lawn. Survivors include his son, Brian Cowan; daughters, Angela (Lee) Stillabower and Shannon (David) Shepherd; sisters, Mary Hatchett, Nella Cowan, Kathy (Ron) Stillabower, and Linda (Mike) Hines; brother, Jimmy (Sally) Cowan; 13 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by both of his parents; his wife, Evelyn; and a son, Hank Johnson. A funeral service for Robert will be held Friday, May 4, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Myers-Reed Chapel with Virgil Clotfelter officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Baptist Cemetery. Friends may call two hours prior to service time on Friday. Memorials in Robert's name may be made to the American Cancer Society.
