Scotty Matthew Frederick

Scotty Matthew Frederick was born in Columbus, IN. on July 20, 1987, the son of Matthew G. “Matt” Frederick and Julie Ann Reid.

Scotty grew up in Columbus, IN. and attended Columbus East High School, Class of 2006.

A student, he enjoyed reading and marveled in the works of Tolkien, Sanderson, Jordan and Poe. He adored all animals, but the special ones in his life were Monty, Fade, Dog, Molly and Lacy. He had a vast range of musical interests and he also enjoyed gaming.

He had a great sense of humor. He was brilliant, gentle, calming and loving. To even begin to list his friends would fill a novel. His disarming personality made all strangers friends.

Scotty’s love was all encompassing. The presence of his absence is everywhere.

A memorial service will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, December 31, 2010 at the Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th St. with the Rev. Mitchell J. Coggin and Father Clem Davis officiating.

Calling hours will be from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Thursday and from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service on Friday.

Inurnment will be in the Garland Brook Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Bartholomew County Humane Society or to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Scotty is survived by his mother, Julie Ann Reid of Columbus, IN.; his father and step-mother, Matt and Mary Ann Frederick of Columbus, IN.; three sisters, Cameron and Katie Adams and Lauren Frederick all of Columbus, IN.; two brothers, William Eikenbary and Evan Frederick both of Columbus, IN.; grandparents, David and Virginia Reid of Georgetown, TX., Jim Frederick of Columbus, IN., Barbara Frederick also of Columbus, IN. and Pete and Carol Sageser of Greensburg, IN.; a great grandfather, Jack Akin of Georgetown, TX.; Uncles, Bobby (Donna) Reid, Eric (Jennifer) Reid, Mark (Beth) Frederick, Tom (Lani) Frederick, Neil Frederick, David (Beth) Frederick, Shawn (Lora Lyn) Frederick and Jay (Shawn) Frederick; an Aunt, Sister Anne Frederick, OSB; and cousins, Nathan and Jake Reid, Richard Croddy II and Luke, Amy, Meri El, Sean, Meghan, Noelle, Alex, Michaela, Emelia Frederick and Solomon Gearheart.
