Virginia M. Johnson

Virginia M. Johnson, 90, of Columbus died 9:18 p.m. Monday, March 4, 2019, at Homeview Health and Rehabilitation Center in Franklin. Virginia was born in Hope, Indiana May 3, 1928, the daughter of Paul and Edith Stucker. She married Royce D. Johnson June 26, 1948 in Columbus; he preceded her in death December 4, 1991. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She worked as a Bookkeeper for Quality Mill of Columbus and was a School Crossing Guard for several years. She was active in the Homecoming Committee of the Knightstown Soldiers and Sailors Children’s Home, an organization very dear to her heart. She is survived by son, Terry (Debra) Johnson of Columbus; daughter, Sheryl (William) Boyd of Whiteland, IN; grandchildren, Ryan Johnson of Columbus, Scott (Laura) Johnson of Goshen, KY, Matthew Boyd of Tipton, IN, Nicholas Boyd of Whiteland, IN, Patrick (Randa) Boyd of Shelbyville, IN and Rachel (Daniel) Blackie of Greenwood, IN; great grandchildren, Emmeline Johnson, Benjamin Johnson, Nola Boyd, Olivia and Audrey Blackie. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Pauline Harris and Maxine Pollack; brother, Harold Stucker. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Myers~Reed Chapel on 25th Street with Rev. Howard Boles officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to service time.
