

Agnes Thomas, age 90, passed away, Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at Kobacker House in Columbus, Ohio. She was born November 28, 1924 to the late Matt and Amanda (Pavlicic) Sablijak in Harrison City, Pennsylvania. Agnes was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and 4th grade teacher at Van Buren School near her long-time residence of Findlay, Ohio. She was a graduate of BGSU with a Bachelor's Degree of Science in Education and honored by Who's Who Among American Teachers in 1971. She was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church of Westerville, Ohio. Agnes married Joseph Thomas on December 1, 1951. After their retirement in 1995, Agnes and Joseph moved to Westerville, Ohio. Agnes enjoyed painting, drawing and writing. She is survived by loving husband of 63 years, Joseph; children, Joselle (Paul) Thomas-Cox of Avon Lake, Ohio, Dr. Kurt (Marcia) Thomas of Avon Lake, Ohio, Jill Thomas-Messmer of Westerville, Ohio; grandchildren, Kyle (Yeon) Thomas of Tampa, Florida, Kasey Thomas of Austin, Texas, Lexa Messmer and Garrett Messmer of Westerville, Ohio; nieces, Helen Bibich and Katherine Bibich of Canton, Ohio. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by siblings, Charles Sablo, Catherine Bibich and Anne Sablo; nephew, Dan Bibich. Family will receive friends from 3PM-4PM, Thursday, January 22, 2015, at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Road, where a funeral service will be held at 4PM. Graveside services will be held 11 AM, Friday, January 23, 2015 at Knollcrest Memory Gardens in Findlay, Ohio. The family would like to extend a special sentiment of gratitude to the dedicated and caring staff of Sunrise of Worthington, Ohio.
