Amanda Thomas

Mrs. Thomas was born May 20, 1932 in Sandyville, West Virginia to the late Stephen V. and Elva (Waybright) Parrish. She died Saturday March 6, 2010 at Autumn on the Lake in Thornville. She was 77.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert W. “Trusty” Thomas, son James T. O’Connor, brother Richard H. Parrish and her sister Esther Parrish Hailey.

She is survived by her sons Richard S. Parrish of Bonaire, Georgia and Robert W. Thomas II of Lakewood Ohio; sisters Mary L. (Parrish) Stelk, Sarah L. Parrish, Susan J. (Parrish) Hoover, and Ruth Marie Parrish; sister in law Virginia (Parks) Parrish of Baton Rouge, La., granddaughter Lisa Grether and many other grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A member of the Class of ’48 from Ripley High School in Ripley, W Va, she was an administrative secretary before retiring from DCSC in Columbus, Ohio. She spent many wonderful times with her family bird watching at Dawes and in Killbuck, Ohio, enjoyed wildflowers and country music. She will be sadly missed by all that knew and loved her.
