

Annabelle Marcelle Smith Seckel earned her angel wings on Friday, March 11, 2016. She joins her beloved husband, and her son, “Sunny” Seckel. Born “six down, seven up” in a family of twelve. Annabelle joined her family on August 10, 1920 In Wooster, Ohio to the late Dr. Alonzo C. and Gail Kinney Smith. She was a 1938 graduate of Wooster High School and attended The Ohio State University. She was an avid Buckeye fan. On March 21, 1942, Annabelle married her high school sweetheart, Robert Bernard Seckel of Orrville, Ohio.
A devoted, and loving, wife, mother and grandmother, Annabelle and Robert raised their family in Cambridge, Ohio. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter Gaillon Seckel (Bob) Baker, of Columbus, Ohio; grandchildren: Tiffany (Buddy) Satterfield of New Bern, N.C., Tricia (Scott) Middleton of Broomfield, Colo., Luke and Daniel Seckel of Cambridge, Ohio; great grandchildren: Owen and Gavin Satterfield, Camden and McKenzie Middleton; sister Patricia Smith Jones of Clare, MI; brother John Smith of Westerville, Ohio; and a multitude of beloved nieces and nephews; and many friends at the Trillium Place.
A longtime member of Ninth Street United Methodist Church in Cambridge, Ohio. She was a member of the National Association of Retired Veteran Railway Employees (NARVRE), unit 113 of Port Charlotte, Florida, where she and Bob retired for 20 years. Annabelle spent the last 15 years at Brookdale Trillium Place.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2pm, Friday, April 1, 2016 at Linworth United Methodist Church, 7070 Bent Tree Blvd, Columbus, OH 43235 with Pastor Gene Folden officiating. Family will receive friends, that afternoon, from 1:00pm to the time of service.
A private family interment will take place at Wooster Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Linworth United Methodist Church, in her loving memory.
Arrangements are entrusted to Schoedinger Worthington Chapel.
