

Anthony David Hensley, Sr, age 71 of Columbus, entered into eternal rest Sunday, June 20, 2010 after a battle with cancer. Tony was born October 18, 1938 in Williamson, WV. In his late teens, Tony moved to Columbus, where he met and married Nancy Riley, the love of his life. Tony retired from George Byers & Sons, and in his later years, he enjoyed working at GCA Service, INC., with his daughter Tammy, and Scioto Services with his daughter, Karen. Tony had a strong work ethic in which he passed onto his children. Three years ago, Tony met an extremely proud milestone in his life when he converted to Catholicism and remarried Nancy at St. James the Less Catholic Church. He loved the OSU Buckeyes, playing slots at Belterra Casino, fishing on the banks of Darby Dan Farms and navigating the internet. Tony’s family was the most important in his life and he valued them above other possessions. Preceded in death by his parents, Edna Blankenship and Elbert Hensley; daughters, Sherry Jean and Sandra Jane Hensley; son, Samuel Bruce Hensley; and brother, Carl Lee Hensley; and sister, Mary Hensley. Tony will be missed by his loving wife of 53 years, Nancy; children, Mark Anthony (Sandra) Hensley, Karen (Chuck, who was also a close companion) Snyder, Tammy (Jr.) Evans, and Anthony David, Jr. (Regina) Hensley; 15 grandchildren; multiple great-grandchildren; and sister, Betty (Woody) Reffitt. Family will receive friends Wednesday, June 23, 2010 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm and again on Thursday from 11am until the time of funeral services at 12 Noon at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Rd., Columbus, OH.
