Anthony Wayne Simons

Anthony "Tony" Simons, US NAVY Veteran, age 65, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family and friends on Thursday, March 13, 2025. On June 14, 1959, a legend was born in Nelsonville, Ohio, to the late Robert and Doris Simons.

Tony is survived by his daughter, Stephanie (Jeremy) Postelmans and Step-daughter Brandis (Brandon) Gilbert. "BADA$$ GRANDPA" to grandchildren Keelie Shaye Gomez and Christopher Gomez, as well as great grandpa to Willow Nicole Rose. Surviving also is his sister, Marie (Phil) Buckingham, and Best Friend Keith (Theresa) Barringer, along with many other friends and comrades.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Michael Lane Salyer, his soulmate “Star”(Deb), as well as his fur-babies Yoda & Tilly.

Tony was known by most for his humor, loyalty, selflessness, hard-work, dedication, and unwavering determination to help others. His love for Music, Nascar (Mark Martin), military aircraft’s, trains, growing plants, collecting antiques, and spoiling his cats filled his spare time. Tony was a devoted father, loving grandfather, and gullible great grandpa, who poured his heart and soul into everything he did. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 11 am, followed by visitation from 12:30-3pm, ending with full military honors and presentation of the flag. Services will be held at SCHOEDINGER EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5360 E. Livingston Ave, Columbus, OH 43232.
