

Arthur N. Levi, age 88, of Newark died Tuesday, October 20, 2015. Art was born May 9, 1927 in Peebles, Ohio and eventually settled in Columbus. He was a proud Navy veteran who served in WWII. Art enjoyed a very successful career in the floor covering business beginning at a local flooring company and later as an owner of Levi's 4 Floors. Art was one of the finest salesman in the industry. He retired in Newark, Ohio where he had numerous dear friends. He was a member of the Elks Club, Moose, American Legion and Moundbuilders Country Club in Newark. He enjoyed fishing, tennis, playing gin and telling a good joke. Survived by his loving companion of 18 years, Claudia "Corky" McMillen; children, Kirk (Connie) of Oregon, Tom (Chris) of Ohio, Nita (Steve) Smith of Ohio and Art (Michqua) of Ohio; grandchildren, Matthew, Michael, Jeni, Josh, Kelly and Tyler Levi, Maggie Smith-Beehler, Katie Riley, Carly Debnam and Karlie Allen; and 11 great-grandchildren. Art was preceded in death by Ann Levi and June Levi. He will be remembered for his love of people as he never met a stranger and will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege to know him. Family will receive friends on Friday from 6-8pm and from 11-12:30 on Saturday at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Road, Columbus, where a memorial service will take place at 12:30pm on Saturday. Private interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Hospice of Central Ohio, 1320 W. Main St. Newark, OH 43055.
