Ashley Arter Taft

Ashley Arter Taft was born March 14, 1967, at University Hospital, Columbus, Ohio, and died peacefully in his chair January 27, 2025, at Wesley Glen Retirement Community. He is buried at Greenlawn Cemetery.

Our beloved son leaves behind parents, Rebecca and Sheldon Taft, brothers Mariner (Janice) and Curtis (Sarah), niece Anna and nephews Douglas and Willem, all of Columbus. Ashley was married briefly, but had no children.

He attended Bexley Public Schools, Columbus Academy, Fay School, Choate-Rosemary Hall and The Ohio State University.

He loved to make people laugh. Ashley was a good storyteller, role player and mimic. He had many interests including nature, travel, reading, modern and classical music, opera, growing chili peppers, making beer and wine and sky diving. He was kind, generous and loyal; a good and faithful man who is sorely missed.

You can remember Ashley with a gift to Cat Welfare or Opera Columbus (he loved “The Temple”). A Celebration of Ashley’s Life is planned for Saturday, March 15, 2025, from 3:00-5:00, at Rocky Fork Hunt and Country Club, Gahanna. Family, friends and acquaintances are welcome.
