

Audrey Valentine, age 83, passed away on November 5th, 2017 in the presence of her family. She was born on January 1st, 1934 to her parents Oakley and Faith “Staten” Barnhouse in Athens County. Audrey married the love of her life, Richard “Dick” Valentine on January 31st, 1970 and they shared 33 years of marriage together. Audrey was no stranger to hard work, and retired from managing Classic Cleaners Dry Cleaning after 45 years of faithful service. Audrey was a lifetime member of The Moose Auxiliary of Jackson, The American Legion, and The VFW. She loved Bingo, bowling and was a talented seamstress. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends.
Audrey is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Richard; her sister Linda Wilber and special friends Betty Ferguson and Alberta Rasp. Left to mourn her passing are her loving children Kathy (Mike) Pickett, Randy (Bobbi) Daniels, Rich (Jean) Valentine, Jan (George) Todd, and Jill Jenkins; her grandchildren Brad (Jaime) King, Sean (Liza) Daniels, Kevin Daniels, Mike Valentine, Angie Rush, Jason Pickett, Amy, Emily, and Megan Jenkins, and Devon Parrett; 12 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; her sisters Wanda (Gene) McDonald, Marlene Kisor, and Darla Barnhouse; as well as her special friend Bertha McGuire.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 8 at Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home, located at 151 East main Street, Circleville from 4 to 8pm. Her funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, November 9, at 10:30am with Pastor Dean Queen officiating. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Circleville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Heartland Hospice as well as St. Jude’s Research Hospital.
