August Joseph Husse

August J. Husse "Auggie" 76, was born August 24, 1944. He went home to the Lord on December 5, 2020. His Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Noon at St. John Lutheran Church, 2745 West Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43204, the corner of W. Broad St. and S. Hague Ave. The Reverend Thomas A. Phillips officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Auggie's memory to St. John Lutheran, Mt. Carmel Hospice or the American Lung Association.

August "Auggie" Husse, 76, was born in Columbus, Ohio on August 24, 1944. He went home to the Lord on December 5, 2020. He was preceded in death by parents, August "Gus" and Dorothy Husse; and sister, Carol Husse. He is survived by his loving wife, Jody Husse; sister, Bonnie (Tom) Lyle; sister in-law, Karen Keplar; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Auggie loved his family. He grew up in the South End and made lifelong friends there. Auggie graduated from South High School in 1962 and remained close to his friends throughout his life. He worked for the Bureau of Workers Compensation early in his career and then finished his career at Frank Gates Service Company. Auggie loved to dance to doo-wop music, he loved golfing, and going out to lunch and dinner with friends. He loved Myrtle Beach and enjoyed many vacations there. Auggie suffered with COPD and Pulmonary Fibrosis. A memorial service will be held at a later date due to Covid.
