Barbara Louise Hearne

Barbara Louise (Tigner) Hearne, age 89, of Columbus, Ohio passed away Jan. 20, 2026. She was born on Jan. 14, 1937, in Groveport, Ohio to the late Harold and Thelma Tigner. She joins in death her parents; sisters Meredith and Carol and brother Marvin. She also joins in death her son John Steven Hearne (Leanne Phillips), son in law John “Buddy” White and the love of her life her husband John Walter Hearne. Barbara leaves behind her two sons Kevin (Kristi) Hearne and Phillip (Marlea) Hearne as well as her daughter Kimberly Hearne-White and fiancé Mark Blake; Grandchildren Nathan Hearne, Milisa (Ryan) Ziegler, Kristal (Dustin) Dinkins, Bryan (Mary) Hearne, Lisa (Rodney) White-Blair, Joseph (Shannon) White, Doug (Ashlee) Hearne, Chris Sistrunk, Mikeal (Mackenzie) Hearne as well as several great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter Charlee Kessler, and also several nieces and nephews. Barbara traveled the world married to an army officer, ultimately settling back in Columbus, Ohio where she became a faithful member of Refuge of Hope Church. Her whole life revolved around her family and faith. She earned the name “Memaw” because she was a shepherd to so many children. She was always guiding someone, whether family or friends. Her life was a witness for Christ. She was a daily prayer warrior for those in need, and she had an extensive inspirational card ministry that was far reaching and served so many, hand picking each one of those cards for every occasion. Memaw used to sign her cards “remember Jesus loves you and so do I”. She was always prepared to share the love of Jesus. She loved the Lord. She loved her family. She loved her neighbors. She will forever live in the hearts of so many. Visitation will be held on Tuesday Feb. 3, 2026 from 4PM to 6PM with the memorial service starting at 6PM at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services by Schoedinger - Hilltop, 3030 West Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43204. In lieu of flowers memorials donation may be made in her name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
