Barbara Rack Nye

Barbara Rack Nye, age 76, passed away Friday, February 12, 2010. Barbara was born in New York City to the late William and Elizabeth (Alexander) Rack. Her family moved to Philadelphia, Pa where she graduated from Ursinus College with a degree in Physical Education. Her career included teaching Health and Physical Education at Jones Middle School and Hastings Middle School. Her passion was classical music. Barbara is survived by her husband of 54 years, Richard “Dick” Nye; daughters, Debra Cripe and Nancy (Gary) Conklin; grandchildren, Steven and Meryl Cripe and Ryan and Allison Conklin; brother, William (Barbra) Rack M.D.; sister, Elizabeth (Gus) Schmid; several nieces and nephews. A celebration of Barbara’s life will be held with a Memorial service 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 17 at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL 1740 Zollinger Rd. where the family will receive friends from 12 noon – 2 p.m. prior to the service.
