

Bennett Simon Aycock, age 80, of Columbus, Ohio passed away peacefully on March 3, 2015; U.S. Air Force Veteran and retired from Franklin County. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Pearl Aycock and his son, Tony B. Aycock. Bennett attended Terrebone High School and Ohio Christian University. He earned a BA in Theology and served for many years as a Chaplain with AmVets. He was very devoted to Holy Family Church where he volunteered in the Holy Family Soup Kitchen. He was a member of the Air National Guard Reserves and American Legion Posts #532 and #144. Bennett enjoyed spending time with his sons cheering on the Cincinnati Bengals and the Cleveland Indians. He was a very devoted husband and caregiver to his wife of nearly 60 years, Ruth Aycock; supportive dad to his children, Terrence Aycock, Diana (John) Scarberry, Mickey (Jane) Aycock, Joey (Elaine) Aycock, Billy (Barbara) Aycock, Jennifer Sparks and Christopher (Wanda) Aycock; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, extended family and friends. Family will welcome friends 2-4 and 6-8pm Friday, March 6, 2015 at Schoedinger Hilltop Chapel, 3030 W. Broad St., Columbus, OH 43204 where services will be held at 10:30am Saturday; interment to follow at Union Grove Cemetery, Canal Winchester.
