

Bennett "Ben" H. Riemer, age 55, passed away on Monday January 27, 2020 at his residence with his family by his side. He is preceded in death by his father; Harold Lewis Riemer. Ben is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Meg, children; Zoe and Dorian, his furry children; Keeva, Gabby, Duncan and Zada; mother; Gerry Riemer, brothers; Tom (Cammy) Riemer, Gary (Maxine) Riemer, Tim (Donna) Riemer and many nieces, nephews and friends. Ben attended The Ohio State University where he studied Landscape Architecture and Photography. He also traveled Europe to study the beautiful gardens and brought that beauty back to the United States. He worked as a Chef or Sous Chef at Umbertos, Grand Vu, and many of the Cameron Mitchell Restaurants before working at the Rocky Fork Hunt and Country Club where he started as a chef before transitioning outside to be the Landscape Design Manager. He built 3 miles of hiking trails for the members to enjoy, as well as planting countless flowers and hanging thousands of Christmas lights every year. He enjoyed traveling to Bar Harbor, ME where he was married, Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia, and Ocean City, MD. His passions were his faith, family, and landscape designing, especially the Koi ponds with waterfall features and forest trails, all features he created at his own home. His hobbies were camping, cooking over an open fire, his backyard and photography. A visitation will be held on Friday, January 31, 2020 at the SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY CHAPEL 3920 Broadway from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. The funeral service for Ben will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at the GROVE CITY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH 2684 Columbus St. Grove City, OH. With Dr. Dennis Mohler and Dr. Carl Wiley officiating. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Grove City Food Pantry at the Purple Door Church or simply plant a tree in Ben's honor.
