Elizabeth Ann Garver, age 66, finished this part of her journey on February 3, 2010. Born May 20, 1943, Beth came into this world determined to right wrongs, change circumstance, and welcome all people. Beth was an avid baseball fan and devoted herself to the Chicago Cubs. She and Bill went to Chicago for games. She was also a Clippers season ticket holder and once threw out the opening pitch. Beth’s love of all animals led her to a farm in Athens County with her family in tow. For a city girl, she jumped in with both feet, as was her nature. She loved animals, and she could never turn one away. Beth was a weekly visitor to Dawes Arboretum when her daughters were young, and she loved nothing more than weekend camping trips with a station wagon stuffed with as many cousins and neighborhood kids as would fit. During this wonderful journey, Beth traveled to Ireland, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, the Netherlands, and much of the United States with her husband. Beth is survived by her devoted and adoring husband, William H. “Bill” Garver; loving daughters, Kim and Tonia Garver; and many cherished relatives on both her and Bill’s sides. Family will receive friends from 5-7 pm, with a memorial service to follow at 7 pm on Friday, February 5, 2010 at Schoedinger Hilltop Chapel, 3030 W. Broad St. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in her memory to the Capital Area Humane Society 3015 Scioto-Darby Executive Court Hilliard, OH 43026.
