

Bette Harrison, age 79, currently of Pickerington, previously of Grove City, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2019. Bette was born and raised in Orland, California, daughter of the late Roger and Lena Kees. Also preceded in death by her beloved son, Randy. Bette graduated from Orland High School, Class of 1958. Following school, Bette moved to San Francisco where she began working as a stenographer with Pacific Telephone. Shortly after, Bette moved to the Dayton area where she started her family and settled for 40 years. While there Bette worked for Ohio Bell which turned into Western Electric and retired as an Area Manager in Columbus with ATandT. Bette enjoyed retirement in the warmer climate of Bradenton, Florida from 1999-2011 before returning to Columbus to be closer with family. Engaging, friendly and quick witted, Bette always had a crowd of friends. She followed the golden rule of always treating people like she wanted to be treated. She enjoyed traveling, playing poker, gardening, volunteered with the Memorial Tournament, and never turned down the offer of a good rum and coke or sharing "Beers with Bette" and co-workers. She will be greatly missed by her loving son and daughter law, Bob and Mary Harrison; grandsons, Matthew (Jene) and Brandon Harrison; siblings, Denton (Gail) Kees, Bill (Carolyn) Kees, Judy Joksch, Tom (Brenda) Kees, and Lembit Ratassepp; and many other extended family members and dear friends. A memorial service celebrating Bette's life will be held at 2 P.M. Friday, November 8, 2019 at Bethel Lutheran Church, 4501 Hoover Rd., Grove City, where family will receive friends from 1 P.M. until time of service Friday.
