Born in Garden City on Long Island, Betty met her beloved husband, Bill, at Ohio Wesleyan University. They married in 1958 and built a full and lively life together in Ohio, raising three children: Tracy, Will, and Craig. Betty was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who embraced life with energy and determination.
Over the years, Betty and Bill found great joy in their time at Lake Lamoka in New York, where they shared countless adventures and quiet moments alike. They loved touring the nearby Finger Lakes wineries, exploring the local auction scene in search of treasures, and ending their days by the fire with their loyal black lab, Mac, curled at their feet.
Betty also had a love for crafts, bowling, and golf, and was a fierce supporter of the Cincinnati Reds and Ohio State Buckeyes. Above all, she treasured her family. She is survived by her husband Bill; her children; granddaughters Danielle Valentine and Chelsea Knight; and great-grandchildren Sebastian Johnson, Ryan Knight, and Eva Knight.
Betty will be remembered for her strength, wit, and bold spirit -- a woman who lived life on her own terms and left a lasting mark on everyone who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Betty's honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
