My darling wife--Another Thanksgiving has passed since I lost you.  I spent it with the family at Pattys as I know you would want me to do.  It has been a year now, but I never spend a waking moment without thinking of you and,  I know you are with me somehow.

I decorated the house for Christmas for you and you know how I hate to do that (haha).  Our wonderful children are keeping me company, and your  grandchildren have turned out to be wonderful people.  I love them so much.  You can be very proud of them.

I try my best to keep the house clean for you, and no one has been hurt from my cooking so far.  At least , I don't think they have been.

It is snowing a lot today, and I think of how you loved the winter and the holiday season.  I just try to remember that you are in a happy place, are pain free,  and  are no longer worried about anything. You only get to know the good things now.

I love you my darling and l hope and pray that I will deserve the honor of spending eternity with you.  49 years with you was an honor that I didn't deserve, and I want much more.

I have so much more that I would like to say.  Honey, I will now ask you to read what is in my heart  and you will see it all.

Mom, it has been a year now since you went to heaven.  We all think about you every day and we still miss you as much as we did the day you passed.  You will be happy to know that we are still one big happy family.  We make sure that we spend time together and call each other, just like you wanted us to do.  There are so many fun things that has happened over the past year, but I'm sure you already know about them because I know you are still with us every day.  You grandbabies are growing up so fast and have done some things you would be so proud of.  Since you have passed you have had two more of them go in to high school, one got married and one got brave enough to cheer like you hoped she would .  Thank you for always being there for all of us, even now.  You are in our thoughts and conversations daily.  We love you Mom and we will all meet again in Heaven.

betty was a sister to me .we knew each other since we were 18 or so,lost touch for awhile but never forgotten. it was my deep pleasure to renew that friendship with her and george several years ago.she was the kindest person i have ever known and we are all of us less without her. I remember liz,willie and mikey as children and am so sad for their loss. I know she was the only love for George. The funniest time with my Aunt was in the early 80's.  Betty, Patty, Grandma Tatman, Liz, Mike, & Angie. We traveled in a small Winnebago to Cape Haterus. On the way down everyone discovered my lactose intolerance in such a cofined space. You can imagine.  Mike and I coined the phrase "sucker".  When we got there we fished during a blue fish blitz and Grandma fryed it up.  I will never forget that memory.  My love goes out to George, Willie, Liz & Mike.

I never had the opportunity to give her a formal wedding when we eloped, so I proposed to her again on our 25th wedding anniversary.  She honored me with her acceptance and we had a proper formal church wedding.  I  had another 24 years with my best friend and love of my life , and  she was the rock that kept my feet somewhat on the ground.

This is my beautiful Mother the day her and Dad renewed their vows on their 25th Wedding Anniversary.

I did not get the honor of knowing Betty well, but I have the privilege of being am a friend and neighbor to her daughter Liz.  Through Liz, I was able to hear of kindest in her heart and the courage and strength Betty showed during her battle with cancer. 

Liz and her family are some of the nicest, kindest people I have ever known.  I feel this is the greatest tribute to Betty. She raised a wonderful person, who is raising wonderful children, meaning her legacy will always live on.

Betty you were one of my favorite people in the world. I absolutely loved seeing you and Patty at the family events. You always had a good story and advice. Every time we were at uncle David's you made a point to sit in the shade with your shoes off and tell me what mistakes not to make. You will be very missed. I love you and you will always be in my heart.

Betty you will be missed by all who knew you. I have had some of the funnest times with you, mom and patty. I remember the day we were driving back from some place, i was driving you and patty were in the back seat and mom was in the front, you and patty had us all laughing so hard i was crying and almost had to pull over to prevent a wreck. that was the last time i ever took you three any were, for all our safety. I will miss you with all my heart, love and prayers. Always in my heart, forever in hims arms. Until i see you again.

Mamaw, I remember when you walked into my house, and you where wearing your fur coat and your BIG ol' granny glasses and you started singing cruella devil. You would always tell me and Phoebe storys about the bloody finger and we would bug you and BUG you until you told us the story again. You would always say, " Can I beat you, Can I just beat you one time Hannah Jane." But you where kidding you would just tickle me to deth. You and Papaw would both always say who is this little girl and i would say ppppp I'm your grand daughter and it was funny because you where kidding too. But now you're in Heaven with your family and a brother or sister WE don't even know and you're probably doing cartwheels 24/7  -Love you Mamaw

Aunt Betty and Mom were the original pickers.  They we always treasure hunting.  When we would hear Aunt Betty and Uncle George would come over we would be excited.  She must have taught me and Willie how to blow things up.  We sure did do it a lot.  I think we got good at it.  Christmas eve we had so much fun we always prayed for a snow storm so we could stay the night.  This harder on me than I thought it would be.  She will be missed. Take care of our family in heaven.

Mom, I will miss everything about you.  I will miss how sweet and tender you are.  In your life and your death you have made me want to be a better person.  I so want to have your patients although it will truly be a hard task because in my entire life, I have only know two people to have such unbelieveable patience and that is you and Bryan. 

I will always smile just thinking about how you were always so excited when you found a garage sale "treasure" and couldn't wait to show me.  I know for now on when I go visit Dad I will always image you standing at the stove cooking because you always wanted to make sure your family had a meal to eat. Also, I will remember you out in the yard looking at your plants to see if they needed watered or filling up you bird feeders.

I loved watching you when you were with your brothers and sisters and you were all just laughing and being as completely goofy as a group of siblings could be.  I would just love sitting in the room not saying a word and just watching you all laughing until you were crying which would make me laugh also.  I loved watching you and Dad sit around playing cards with your mom and dad and siblings.  The house would be sooooooo incredibly loud with all the family and cousins that you could had raise your voice sometimes just hear yourself speak.  

Thank you for teaching me the value of family.  Because of you, I can honestsly say that my best friends growing up were my brothers and my cousins. You and Dad made sure that no matter what state we lived in growing up, you would pack us up many times during the year to travel to Ohio to visit family and I can not thank you enough.  

I will miss making Christmas cookies with you and Aunt Patty, rolling noodles at Thanksgiving and your delicious Coca Cola Cake you made for each and every birthday.  

Thank you for sewing our Halloween costumes when we were growing up and thank you for taking all your grandchildren endless times to parks, movies, parties, McDonalds (lol), shopping, pet shop, etc.  Thank you for going to all your grandkids play, games, and dancing with them in the living room when they were little.    

There are so many things I am thankful for and many reasons why I will miss you but I have always told you how I feel about you so I know you already know.  I will see your beautiful smiling face again in Heaven Mom :)   Your brother Robin said it so perfectly when he said "It was an honor to know you".

I came to know "Aunt Betty" through my husband Steve and my mother-law  Patricia. My mind races as I remember her. She was a gift and was always about family and loved them unconditionally. Holidays were always warm and welcoming in her  home. My kids would have a blast!
 She and her Sissy were not only sisters but the best of friends and I would envy their relationship as they would cut up, laugh and enjoy their time together She was tirelessly rushing around making sure everyone felt welcome, telling them to eat, treating my kids like gold , the list is endless! 
 I felt priviledged to be invited on her and Patricia"s garage sale/thrift store Friday excursions even though I knew they just wanted me to do the driving so they could act crazy. She loved her jewels and I knew it was serious when the Jewelry store owner knew her name and had "special items" on hold for her.
  You can't come away from knowing her and not be a better person  Aunt Betty is 100% whole now and is at home with the Father!   I will miss her and l remember her always!

I have so many great memories of Betty.I remember the first time I went yardsaling with her and her sister Pat ,I never laughed so hard in my life at those two trying to see who could get out of the car first.From the day I met her she welcomed me into  the family and treated me like one of her own.She is a wonderful friend and sister,I am truly blessed to have had her in my life and she will forever hold a special place in my heart.

I knew Betty through my sister Lisa and Dave. She was a wonderful woman. Always making people laugh. She never knew a stranger. You will be terribly missed but we will find peace in knowing you are in heaven looking after the loved ones you left behind. May you rest in peace Betty!! We love you

I will miss you terribly, my sweet sister and friend. What fun we had together all of our lives. We have been friends for 66 years, laughed and cried together so many times.    You are whole now, but I will see your sweet face again  and share in HIS glory with you and other loved ones. I know you will be cheering me on as always.

Betty was my grandma. She was so funny and no matter how she felt, how bad of a mood she was in (which was like, never) she would always want to make sure she put everyone first. She was so generous. It amazed me and everyone else. She was touched by an angel and was just a miracle. Anyone who met her was honored to know her, she always said the nicest things. I will NEVER forget her and how much she loved God and her family. The angel is finally in Heaven. I love you Mamaw.

Betty was a long time friend and second mother to all of us kids growing up on Collingdale rd growing up. She opened her home to all of us, where we had many sleep overs with her kids growing up. She had some of the best card parties ever, and always made sure there were goodies to snack on. She was always racing around town to get the best yard sale deals, but most of all she has finally found the best gift around "HEAVEN and the Lord". I will miss her kind words or the simple "Hello Honey". May God Bless your family and friends in this time and comfort them with the Lord at their side. Aunt Betty was a great inspiration to me.  She always had a kind word to say about everyone.  She shared with me a couple of months ago,” the Lord has blessed me beyond all that I have expected in my life.  And when He takes me home!
