Born December 4, 1925, in Coshocton, Ohio, to Edith and John McCleary, she was a graduate of West Lafayette High School where she participated in the orchestra, band, glee club and dramatics.
She was a registered nurse, graduating from Aultman College of Nursing, Canton, Ohio. Following her graduation, she worked as a surgical research nurse at The Ohio State University Hospital, as assistant head nurse in the nursery at Mt. Carmel Hospital, with the American Red Cross blood mobile and as a physician’s nurse for an otolaryngologist.
She met her beloved husband William (Bill) of 68 years through friends while working for the Red Cross, and they married at First Community Church on March 17, 1956.
She was an active member of Riverside Methodist Church for many years, serving on the board and as a preschool and Sunday school teacher. Later, she joined First Community Church. On the inside page of her Bible she wrote, “Her life was one of Faith, Hope and Love.”
Ever the nurse, she devoted herself to taking care of her family. An avid reader of medical journals, biographies and spiritual materials, she enjoyed cooking, gardening and travel in her younger years.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by brother, Donald; sisters-in-law Marjorie McCleary, Rebecca McCleary and Maxine McCleary; stepfather Harold Randles and son-in-law George Condos.
She is survived by her husband; daughter Elizabeth Ann Condos, who she described as, “the joy of her life;” brother Harlan E. McCleary; nieces Sue (Bill) Dunigan, Peggy (Darrell) Ball, Barbara (Regan) Cole and Jan (Mark) Mewhorter; nephew Ty (Chris) McCleary; as well as six great-nieces and two great-nephews.
A funeral service for Beverly will be held Thursday, May 30, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at First Community Church - South Campus, 1320 Cambridge Blvd., Columbus, Ohio 43212, followed by a reception from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Private family entombment will be held.
