Madonna lost her #1 Fan January 1, 2019. Brian J. Kennell 46, of Columbus, Ohio died after losing his battle with non-alcoholic cirrhosis of the liver. Brian was born a gorgeous, bouncy ginger on March 28th, 1972 in Hornell, NY to Kathleen Covert and the late Donald Kennell and quickly became the joy of their lives.
After leaving high school in Canisteo, Brian adventured on to Helena, MT to graduate from Capital High, and then gained his Associates Degree in Accounting and best friend Kristan from the University of Montana. From there he moved on to Cincinnati, OH, Virginia Beach, VA, Boston, MA, and Watertown NY gathering close friends along the way before landing in Columbus, OH. He spent most of his life helping others, and in doing so worked for local government child support agencies in Helena, Cincinnati, and Columbus. In between government stints, Brian managed several FYE Music stores in Cincinnati, Virginia, Massachusetts, and New York and can tell you anything you ever needed to know about music. Music was a huge part of his life, and Brian would always dance as if no one was watching.
Brian was the best friend, brother, son, cousin, nephew, co-worker anyone could ever hope to have. He never met a stranger. He was extremely intuitive and knew what you'd want to say before you did. Brian always made you feel that with him on your side, you could take on the world. Brian did everything with love and compassion on a scale like no other. He was fiercely loyal, considerate and kind. He had that unwavering ability to be a friend to anyone in need, always there to lend a shoulder and give his sage advice. He was the life of the party as the fun began with his smile and laughter, and he would always make sure that everyone was included. Brian was a devoted fan of Madonna, Lucille Ball, Star Wars, and soap operas such as Dallas, Dynasty, Knots Landing and The Young and the Restless.
He is survived by his loving family which includes his mother, Kathleen Covert, his 4 brothers Adam Covert (Andrea), Stephen Kennell (Nicole), Jeremy Covert, and Dana Covert, his sister Beverly Turner(Scott) (Covert), in addition to the loves of his life, his niece and nephews Novalee and Carter Covert, Matthew Kennell, and Clarence Turner. as well as his best friends Kristan Taylor, her daughter Sarah (Columbus, OH), and Greg Reed (Cincinnati, OH) and countless aunts, uncles and cousins both near and far.
We can expect that Brian is currently joining the Golden Girls as the new fourth (sorry Betty) and is at his loving fathers side in Heaven.
