

Buck James “B.J.” Myers, age 68, passed away Sunday, February 15, 2015 at Monterey Care Center in Grove City. He was born December 19, 1946 in Paintsville, Kentucky to the late Charlie and Elizabeth (Gillespie) Myers. He served in the Navy and the Marine Corp during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and the American Legion. B.J. was a retired rail road engineer and also worked many years in the Kentucky coal mines. He was an avid poker player, and known to his family and friends as a card shark. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by granddaughter, Carrigan Evanichko; half-brothers, Hubert, Homer, and Howard Morris; half-sisters Vonda Lee Morris, and Lizie Jackson. He is survived by loving daughters, Darlene (Johnnie) Murphy and Denise (Jeff) Evanichko; grandchildren, Tiffani Harlan, Caleb (Elizabeth) Evanichko, Kyle (Kelsey) Murphy, Chandler Evanichko, Austin Murphy, Carah Evanichko and Mackenzie Murphy; great grandchildren, Bayleigh, Parker, Madden and Carrigan; siblings, Donna (Bruce) Coley, Charlie Myers, Carol Muncy and Frankie Myers; half-sister Stella Beard; former wife, Donna Myers; special nieces, Tammy Flowers and Kay McGrath; and several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Family will receive friends Thursday 5-8pm at SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway, where a funeral service will be held 10:30am on Friday, February 20, 2015. Interment to follow at Sunset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Veteran’s for Veterans or Wounded Warriors.
